CLEARING THE

PATH

Our story began in 2007, with the vision of the late Leyon Rajaratne - a respected stalwart in Sri Lanka's ad industry. With a wealth of experience that spans nearly 20 years in some of the region's top agencies, Leyon set out to start his own communications company. And it wasn't your average ad agency. He believed that when others zig, we should zag. He also believed that brands should speak for themselves, and fostered an experiential marketing module which focused on projects that allowed people to actually experience the brand.

Brands Alley began as a BTL agency, with Leyon working off the dining table at home, on a borrowed laptop, until the agency moved to a proper office in Kuruppu Lane in Borella. With an initial team of 8 dedicated people, Brands Alley started working on projects for clients such as Galle Face Hotel, Reckitt Benckiser, Jetwing, Lion Brewery, Water's Edge, Tigo, Unilever and The Phone Company.

In 2010, Brands Alley suffered a major blow with the tragic passing away of Leyon. However, his vision and legacy was kept alive after his wife, Samangka - also an experienced industry professional, took over the agency. With renewed resolve and a never-say-die attitude, Brands Alley continues to provide clients with clear pathways to successful branding and communications.
